Oxford and Cambridge: An information evening with academic staff and former students

11th April 2013 from 17:30 to 19:30, at the Ecole de Commerce et de Gestion, Geesseknäppchen, Luxembourg

This event is for high-scoring pupils who want to know more about studying at Oxford or Cambridge. The two oldest universities in the UK have a unique system of teaching undergraduates that attracts talented students from across Britain, Europe and the wider world. Entrance is by selection and competition is hard, but every year pupils from the lycées and the international schools in Luxembourg do win places.

Keynote speakers will be the British Ambassador, HE Alice Walpole and Dr Steve Rayner, Tutor for Admissions at Somerville College, Oxford. There will be talks and demonstrations to explain how courses open possibilities for careers. We will also show you how to compose a good application and how to prepare yourself for interviews and tests.

After the talks you will have the opportunity to talk personally to a wide range of former students at Oxford and Cambridge. You can ask them about their studies in particular subjects, about life at the Universities and about the careers that they have followed.

This event is organised by the Oxford University Society of Luxembourg and the Cambridge Society of Luxembourg, with the support of CEDIES and the British Embassy in Luxembourg. The two University Societies and CEDIES will each have a stand where you can obtain further information.

Refreshments will be served.
