This year we are combining the Informal Social Evening for May with the Annual General Meeting of the Society. It will be held on Tuesday, 19 May, 2015 at 19.00 at the Brasserie de Cents, 8 rue Cents, L-1319 Luxembourg (N.B to avoid possible confusion this is not the Brasserie “Beim Zeutzius).
We will start the evening with the informal social part. For those of you who wish to eat (as opposed to simply having a drink) the Brasserie can cater for a maximum of 14 people in the room where we will be having the meeting, so you are advised to come early!!
At a suitable point, e.g when people have finished their main course, we will start the AGM, and we will do our best to work our way through the agenda as efficiently as possible. This will be an opportunity for members to make their views known about past activities of the Society and what you would like us to do in the future.
Those of you who are on our regular mailing list will have received the agenda and the “power of attorney” form which allows you to be represented at the AGM if you cannot attend in person. If you have not received those documents, please contact secretary@cambridge.lu.
Membership
As only fully paid-up members are able to vote at the AGM, I would urge those of you who have not yet paid your annual subscription of €30 to the Society to do so as quickly as possible. Apart from enabling you to vote at the AGM, the subscription entitles you to discounts at our major paying events (the Spring and Michaelmas Dinners, etc) and enables us cover expenses of our important activities at, e.g. the Foire de l’Etudiant and the joint Information Meeting with Oxford. We are also looking for an interesting speaker for an event in the near future, for which we need funds. It’s great that we have a lot of social members who attend our informal dinners, but we would like to increase the number of you who are full members!! At only €30 it is very good value!!
