The Cambridge Society at the Schueberfouer, 27 August, 2015

For the second year in a row a group of Cantabrigian alumni met at the Schueberfouer to enjoy a traditional fish, frites and salad (alternative sausages, frites and salad!), this year at the Friture Armand. We were some 12 people altogether, with some new members as well as some of most senior members of the Society. And most enjoyable it was! We had all the Wine Queens from the Mosel in the restaurant, resplendent in their gowns and tiaras. The intention had been to follow the meal with a stroll around to soak up all the fun of the fair – perhaps with even some of the more adventurous venturing onto some of the more extreme attractions – but it was a wet night, and participants were happy to chat away over the meal. By the time we reached the end of that, the hour was somewhat advanced, and so people headed off home, after a most pleasant social gathering. To be repeated next year!

Informal Social Dinner, 18 June, 2015

Thursday 18th June saw a genial and varied mix of thirteen or so society members dining on the terrace at the Brasserie Schuman next to the National Theatre, surrounded by parasol-laden champagne stands peopled with sunny office-swillers at their evening leisure. Later on a hardy crew sought shelter inside from the wind (it was not the sort of chaleur we enjoyed for most of the summer) and continued the social vivacity until 11 p.m.! Many thanks to all who came along for a most enjoyable evening.
